Wednesday Market Days are here again from 3 to 7 pm at the Bloor-Borden Green P lot. Seven farmers now bring fresh produce, using plans for socially-distanced pickup worked out by the Bloor-Borden Market Advisory Committee and Farmers Market Ontario.
School is out, but we can all enjoy the gardens on the south and southwest sides of Central Tech. In Spring 2020, Susan Purvis and the teaching team from the Workplace Bound Program at Central Tech couldn’t meet with their students to work on the school gardens,
For almost three months from late March to late June, residents of Major Street spent 10 minutes every evening banging pots, marching and dancing — two metres apart, but close in spirit. During the summer months, the gatherings were held weekly on Wednesday evenings.
(This project was active in Spring 2020.) Dozens of volunteers are ready to help Harbord Villagers stay home and safe from coronavirus. They’re offering to make grocery and medication pickups and deal with other local chores—and they’re waiting to hear from you.
You may have heard strange noises outside recently. Groups of neighbours step out on their porches or sidewalks every evening at 7:30pm (keeping the required 2-metre distance from each other) to bang on pots or make music. It’s a way of honouring the healthcare workers who put themselves at risk to keep us safe.
