After a successful in-person General Meeting last spring, the Fall Annual General Meeting will again take place at Central Technical School. Room 208 is located on the main floor, at the north-west end of the building. We will have signs and volunteers to help you find your way. The main entrance is located on the west side of building and an accessible entrance is located on Borden St on the east side, Door 2.
Please join us to meet your Board and see your neighbours. The guest speaker will be Steve Teekens from Na-Me-Res (Native Men’s Residence), which will operate a new Indigenous shelter at 720 Bathurst St. We will also conduct regular business and present financial and other reports. There will be a breakout session for Area Reps to discuss issues important to each area of Harbord Village. We will hear updates from our MPP, Jessica Bell. And finally, we will honour our most recent Community Builder Award winner.
This will be a great opportunity to connect to your neighbours and get involved in your community. All are welcome to attend, but only paid-up HVRA members will be able to vote—so be sure to renew before the meeting! 2. We will vote on a constitutional amendment regarding the term of the Past Chair. You can find the full HVRA Constitution and Bylaw here. This is the motion:

- Whereas the current HVRA Constitution states in Section 6, Officers, subsection (a), that: “the Immediate Past Chair is an ex-officio voting member of the Board whose term is concurrent with the term of the current Chair”;
- and whereas currently the Past Chair serves as long as their successor is Chair, which could mean an additional 4 years on the board beyond their own term, the amendment aims to give the Past Chair the option to resign after one term of the current Chair or stay on for a second term (if that applies);
- it is therefore moved that the section changes to: Section 6 a): The Immediate Past Chair is an ex-officio voting member of the Board for the first term of the current Chair, and, if the current Chair stays for a second term, the Past Chair can choose to stay Past Chair for the second term of the Current Chair.
