Come to the next Harbord Village monthly meal: Wed. Jan. 21, 11:30am, at Ramen Isshin, 421 College, east of Bathurst.
This is one of the most popular ramen shops in the city. If you are not familiar with ramen, here is their own description: “Our signature Ramen is our Wok Fried Red Miso Ramen. Every bowl starts in the wok. A generous handful of veggies mixed with our signature blend of red & white miso, sake and other seasonings are fired up. Tonkotsu broth is added and brought to a piping hot temperature, this is then poured over a fresh bed of noodles. This process melds all the flavours perfectly together to give it that unique Isshin taste.” Ramen Isshin has a diverse array of offerings including many vegetarian dishes.
Their shop is so popular that Ramen Isshin doesn’t accept reservations. To enjoy a delicious lunch while meeting your neighbours, arrive at the 11:30am opening time. That’s the only guarantee that you will get a seat. Please RSVP to monthlydiners@harbordvillage.com so we can let the staff know how many people will be coming.

The September group meal was at Alebrije at 6pm on Tues. Sept. 16.This fine-dining Mexican restaurant opened recently in the space that was formerly Her Father’s Cider Bar & Kitchen. We were welcomed with complimentary welcome cocktails and mocktails and greatly enjoyed sitting on the patio.
Thanks to everyone who joined us at Maven in August. Neighbours really enjoyed the tasty Jewish and Eastern European fare and great conversations. A few photos below.
In July we had great Italian food at Raffaella. This pizzeria has recently become part of the Annex Hotel at 296 Brunswick just south of Bloor. It has a patio!
In June, we enjoyed great conversation and tasty food at Alice Restaurant, 488 College St. Despite the weather, we were able to take advantage of the secluded covered patio. We recommend checking out Alice’s Happy Hour Menu.
In May we had scrumptious Indian food at Bhoj Indian Cuisine (673 Spadina at Sussex). See the contented smiles and empty plates!
